In the not-too-distant future, the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest struggle to negotiate for their immortality. A poor young man who suddenly comes into a fortune of time finds himself on the run from a corrupt police force known as the "time keepers".

What’s in it?

Products & advertising2/5
Why this rating?

Luxury goods and status consumption are visible in the wealthy zone, including a classic Jaguar, expensive jewelry, casinos, and lavish living.

Death of a character4/5
Why this rating?

Death is central to the plot; characters 'time out' frequently, and the emotional toll of these deaths is a key driver for the protagonists.

Graphic injury1/5
Why this rating?

Minimal gore; focuses on the digital 'timing out' process rather than bloody physical injury.

Strong language2/5
Why this rating?

Occasional mild to moderate profanity.

Romance3/5
Why this rating?

Will and Sylvia develop a significant romantic partnership involving dancing, intimacy, shared danger, and rebellion.

Frightening scenes3/5
Why this rating?

Frequent urgency and pursuit surround characters whose countdowns can reach zero, with danger from gangs, police, crashes, and deprivation.

Sexual content & nudity2/5
Why this rating?

Some brief suggestive moments and a scene of implied intimacy between leads.

Alcohol or drugs2/5
Why this rating?

Alcohol is present: Hamilton is drunk, and Borel drinks himself to death. Substance use is consequential rather than celebrated.

Violence4/5
Why this rating?

Repeated action violence includes shootings, armed robbery, fights, hostage-taking, dangerous driving, crashes, and police or gang pursuit.

What’s good in it?

Courage & resilience4/5
Why this rating?

Will and Sylvia repeatedly face lethal deadlines and powerful opponents, taking principled risks to challenge an oppressive system.

Creativity & curiosity4/5
Why this rating?

The central concept—time as currency and a biological countdown—strongly encourages imaginative thinking about economics, society, and mortality.

Diverse representation2/5
Why this rating?

The cast is relatively limited and lacks broad intersectional representation.

Educational value2/5
Why this rating?

Introduces thoughtful ideas about inequality, labor, mortality, and economics, but mainly as themes in an action story rather than as structured instruction.

Kindness & empathy3/5
Why this rating?

Characters rescue one another, donate time, help the poor, and show loyalty, although exploitation and betrayal are also common.

Positive messages3/5
Why this rating?

Strong themes address economic inequality, exploitation, solidarity, resistance to unjust systems, and the consequences of unchecked privilege.

Good role models3/5
Why this rating?

Will and Sylvia show loyalty, generosity, and courage, but they also commit armed robbery, evade authorities, and use dangerous vigilantism.
